Are you ready to vote?

The Primary Election for Secretary of the State is Tuesday, August 9th!

Make sure you make a plan to vote. The turnout in primaries is typically low – your vote matters and your voice will be heard!

Voting in Person

If you are not sure if you are registered REPUBLICAN to vote or where to vote, please use this this Connecticut State portal for Voter Registration Lookup and Polling Place Locator. Polls in Connecticut are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Any elector standing in line at the polls at 8 p.m. will be allowed to cast a vote.

Absentee Voting

If you are unable to vote in person on August 9th, I encourage you to take an active role in our democratic process by voting by absentee ballot. The process is easy, safe and secure.

Two ways to vote absentee…

One — In Person Absentee Voting

Starting July 19th you may go directly to your local town clerk’s office to vote absentee in person, easily and securely in a matter of minutes. You will fill out the ballot application in the clerk’s office and then be given a ballot in return. When voting is completed, your ballot goes into a double envelope and stored securely until Primary Election Day, when it will be counted. Or your ballot may be dropped into the drop box outside your town hall.

Two — Absentee Voting by Mail

  1. Print out the absentee ballot application here. Complete the application and return it to your town clerk either via USPS, the drop box outside your town hall, or in person. Absentee ballots will be available starting July 19th, though you may submit your ballot application at any point.
  2. The Town Clerk will send you an absentee ballot via USPS.
  3. Vote for Terrie Wood on line 2C (or 3C in the 4th Congressional District).
  4. Return your ballot (in the double envelope) to the clerk prior to August 9th by mailing via USPS, or you may drop your ballot in the drop box outside your town hall.

We need elected officials who empower and inspire. Absentee voting is your privilege and right if you are not if you are unable to vote in person during the primary election.
