BECAUSE WORKING TOGETHER WORKS
I ask for your vote on November 3rd.
Election day is Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Polls are open from 6 am to 8 pm. Click below for polling locations alphabetically by street, voter registration form, and an application for an absentee ballot.
[Updated: September 1, 2020]
In July, the legislature passed a bill, now law, making all residents eligible to vote by absentee ballot (AB) in the November general election citing concern over COVID-19 as their reason. All you need to do is check the appropriate box on the application. We passed this legislation because it is important that all residents have the opportunity to exercise their right to vote in a way that is safe and secure during this public health crisis.
Here's how the process works:
STEP ONE:
In September, the Secretary of the State's (SOTS) office will be mailing absentee ballot applications to all registered voters. You may also access the application online through the SOTS's website.
STEP TWO:
Complete your application and return it by mail via the United States Postal Service (USPS) or place it in a designated ballot drop box. Below are the absentee ballot drop box locations for Norwalk and Darien.
Norwalk:
- Norwalk Town Hall, 125 East Avenue
- Norwalk Police Department, 1 Monroe Street
Darien:
- Darien Town Hall, 2 Renshaw Road
STEP THREE:
Once applications have been received, official absentee ballots will be mailed to you beginning October 2, 2020. Complete and return your absentee ballot in the same manner as your absentee ballot application (USPS or Official Ballot Drop Box).
Only immediate family members and health care providers may assist an individual with their ballot.
All absentee ballots must be received by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
PLEASE NOTE:
Residents who prefer to vote in person may do so at the usual polling locations between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, 2020. However, if you submit an absentee ballot, but later decide to vote in person, only your in-person ballot will count, and your absentee ballot will be discarded.
You can vote for Terrie if you live in the 141st District
Norwalk Voter Registration and Polling Place Look-Up
- You can use Norwalk's online database to look up the voting location for your residence in one of two ways.
- The first way is by Name. You must enter data about yourself: Last Name, First Initial, Date of Birth. The computer will look to see if you are a registered voter and display your full name, address, party affiliation, voter status etc. for you to review, and will also tell you your voting location.
- The second way is by address. You enter your street name and the system will display the voting location for residents living on that street. If there are two or more polling places for that street, house number ranges applicable to each polling place will also be displayed.
Voter Registration
- You can register online by going to https://voterregistration.ct.gov
- You can also register by filling out a voter registration form. These must be filled out, signed, and handed in or mailed to the Registrar's office before the election. Voter registration cards are official legal documents and must be personally signed in ink.

- Blank forms are available in the Registrars’ office (Room 122) or the Town Clerk's office (Room 102), both located at:
Norwalk City Hall
125 East Ave.
Norwalk, CT 06856 - You may also download a registration form, complete it, sign it, and mail it to the Registrars’ office. When your application is accepted, the Registrars will send a notice confirming your address and informing you where you vote in the next general election.
- General Elections: The deadline is 14 days before a general election by mail, or seven days before in person. Your application must be postmarked by the fifth day before a primary or received by the Registrar of Voters' office or a voter registration agency by the 14th day before a general election. You may apply in person at the Registrars’ office or at the Town Clerk’s office by the seventh day before a general election.
- Election Day Registration: Connecticut now allows for Election Day Registration (EDR), so if you have not registered to vote by the cut-off dates, it is still possible this year to come into City Hall on Election Day — November 3rd (between 6:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M.). Persons wishing to do so must have a valid I.D. and with current proof of Norwalk residency (30 days or less) — and vote at City Hall. There is no EDR at regular polling places.
You can vote for Terrie if you live in Districts 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6!
